The Obstacle Course

Preston's parents set up an obstacle course in their backyard.  Brax and Mase have been watching Ninja Warrior, and they couldn't wait to try the course!!  They had so much fun, and each of them went through the course twice.

Preston told me there was no way I could beat him.  He claimed he would beat me by AT LEAST 30 seconds.  I made him go first so I knew just how fast I would have to go.  He stopped to take his shoes off so they wouldn't get wet in the kiddie pool.  Then he belly flopped on a skateboard, which slowed him down a little more.  But he aced the egg and spoon which I thought he would struggle with.  So I was a little worried.

I went as fast as I could, and finished with exactly the same time as Preston.  So HA!!  But then little Alex came back after his second time through the course and ended up beating us all.  Taleena's husband Cole was even able to do the course.  They found out he has a cancerous tumor in his hip a few months ago.  And the poor guy is only 22, and they've barely been married a year.  The time we saw him before this trip, he could barely walk, and certainly couldn't get comfortable sitting, standing, or laying down.  But after a few rounds of chemotherapy, I couldn't believe how much better he was walking.  So it's a good sign that the tumor is shrinking, and hopefully he'll be ok when everything is said and done.
