BELIZE November 17th

On the ferry headed to Belize. Our whole group signed up for cave tubing.
Wayne, Shanna, Kaylee, and Taleena. Cousins Christopher and Nate are in the background.
Our guides told us that Hurricane Richard came through and destroyed lots of homes and made a big mess for them. They still hadn't cleaned everything up. But they did say no one was killed, so that's always a good thing.
We had a 45 minute ride in a van to get to the caves. Both kids fell asleep.

Once we reached our destination, we got life jackets, water shoes, and tubes. Then we had about a 20 minute hike to the water.

That's Burns (we called him Burnsy) our driver on the right. Such a nice guy-and very funny!! He was tube leader of our group: Me, Preston, Shanna, Braxton, and Mason. We had to link arms and feet to stay together through the caves. Mason was on my lap and Braxtons little tube was tied to Prestons tube.
We asked Burnsy all kinds of questions about life in Belize and his family. We asked how he likes doing cave tours and stuff. He said for the most part it's good, but there are 2 specific ethnicity's he doesn't like to guide. I won't say which groups they are. But Burnsy said, "You start with much patience. At the end they take all your patience away. They are suck." Preston and I were dying, it was so funny!!
Don't mind us, we're just hiking through a jungle. Watch out for panthers and killer insects.

The caves were so cool!! It got a little chilly inside one of the caves, but for the most part it was just fine. Braxton loved it when Burnsy said, "Butts Up" and "Butts Down". Butts down is just lay back and relax, the water is deep. Butts up, it's shallow so get your butts out of the water. Mason hated it when it was butts up. I think he felt like he was going to fall off the tube, so he'd thrash around yelling at me to "go butts down".

Most people in our group jumped off this rock before heading back. Even Lisa's father-in-law (who is in his 70's) jumped off.

Preston jumping.

The plants and flowers were so beautiful.

This is where we had lunch. But we got it to go so we wouldn't miss the boat. Preston opened up his Styrofoam box and was so excited to see a meal that he used to always eat in Brazil. Chicken, a little salad thing, and beans and rice. He loved it!!
Cemetery
Burnsy and Clarence, they are such cool guys!! I'm pretty sure Clarence was in love with Kaylee:) But he's married and has kids, so I shouldn't say that. He just really liked sweet little Kaylee-a lot. And I'm not the only one who noticed his attention to Kaylee. I'm just sayin.
Heading back to the ship.
Goodbye Belize!!
BINGO beat us-again.
My favorite boys!!
