My Mom

My Grandma Sweet won't be very happy with me for showing this picture, but I think she still looks beautiful!! Grandma has been battling medical things for the past 40+ years. She had hernia surgery and a cancerous spot on her liver removed recently. Her recovery was very slow and extremely difficult. She spent 3 nights in a Hospital in St. George for her surgery, then came home to Beaver. She needed around the clock care, and my Grandpa was out of town for business, so my Mom rarely left her side. One night I went to visit my Grandma, and noticed she wasn't doing very well. My Mom said it was a hard day, and Grandma was really weak. She was confused and took a long time to answer questions. We decided she needed to go to the ER right away. She had fluid in her lungs and around her heart. They ended up admitting her for about a week and a half. My Mom's sister Laura flew in from Washington State to help out too. And my sister Candace spent a few nights with Grandma at the hospital as well. My Mom has her own family and a lot of responsibilities, but she still managed to get everything done, including taking care of her Mom. She is amazing!! Her Birthday was the first part of June. She took a break from staying at the hospital for a little party with cake and ice cream!! I know she was tired, and worried about my Grandma, but I hope she had a good Birthday-love ya Mom!! My Grandma is doing a lot better now. The cancer the doctors removed is a kind that doesn't spread throughout the body, so they think they got it all. She can walk down her street and back with a walker, and is able to do more on her own everyday. There was one night while she was in the hospital that we thought for sure she wouldn't make it, but she pulled through. I'm so thankful to still have her here with us- love you Grandma!!
